Gosnell abortion case shows PA health department regulatory failures

Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Center went without an inspection from 1993 to 2010, according to details from the 2011 grand jury report. Previous reviews that found violations did not receive follow-ups. And the agency received numerous complaints that were not addressed, even one from a prominent Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia doctor advising the department that his patients contracted diseases after visiting Gosnell’s clinic.
