Big Comcast fundraiser for Kathleen Kane Sept. 30

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER: Kathleen Kane says she’s not going to run for governor next year. Her reelection campaign as attorney general, assuming she wants to keep that job, is more than three years away. Yet she is holding a high-dollar fundraiser Sept. 30 at Comcast headquarters in Philadelphia.

A “save the date” notice says there will be a 6 p.m. VIP reception for the event hosts, and a general reception at 6:30 p.m., both at One Comcast Center on JFK Blvd. David L. Cohen’s name is on the notice, which adds that the full host committee is still “in formation.” Tickets are $1,000 for an individual; $10,000 for a patron; and $15,000 for a sponsor. The “chair” level of ticket goes for $25,000.

The timing means that Kane will be competing with as many as 10 other Democrats who are working hard to raise money for the 2014 gubernatorial race. And it may well get political folks wondering again whether Kane is going to run for governor herself after all… (more)

EDITOR: For a major donor and sometime advisor to Kane’s campaigns, this is very disillusioning.
