Penn State board’s handling of NCAA sanctions could be subject of attorney general review

Penn State bylaws say the university president cannot buy property over $1 million, borrow money or authorize people to sign documents without first getting approval from the board of trustees.

So how did Rodney Erickson have the authority to commit the Penn State to a $60 million NCAA fine, plus crippling sanctions for the cash cow football program?

It’s a question many blue-and-white blooded alumni, supporters and faculty are asking, including Baltimore attorney and Penn State graduate, Dan Clements, who posed it to the state attorney general’s office…
