Editorial “PA. House pension changes a start” goes on to observe “the proposed change only would affect new employees… The explanation – which we don’t necessarily buy – is that the state Constitution prohibits the benefits of current stage employees from being changed..”

WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail!   Taking away benefits earned in the past would violate the Constitution, but changing those to be earned in the future probably would not.  It is time for our legislators to at least put the matter to a test.
