LANCASTER NEW ERA

Editorial entitled Lasting benefits of PSU’s Thon” opines:

Penn State students, alumni and friends have a long way to go to restore the university’s tattered image in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal…

“This year’s [dance] Thon set a record, raising $10.7 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital…

“Thon, alone, does not determine the success of students or Penn State. Nor can it single-handedly rebuild the university’s reputation…”

WATCHDOG: We object to the acts of a handful of people, including the former attorney general and now governor,  being used to slur the reputation of a great institution.   Jerry Sandusky may go to jail and a  few people’s reputations have been tarnished, but not that of  the  faculty, the administration, the students or the graduates.   They can all stand as proud as they have in the past.
