Déjà vu Mayor Rick Gray

On August 22, the Baltimore Sun headlined: “Convention hotel’s per-room revenue disappoints. Startup expenses, economy, partial year of operation bring $17.1 million loss.” http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bal-bz.hilton22aug22,0,263292.story

It is the same old same old, whether it is a major city or a smaller city as Lancaster. All this is doing is continuing to show how STUPID our State and Federal elected politicians are. All they know is to SPEND and TAX.

The billions spent all over the US on these stupid convention centers to revitalize cities made a lot of people richer and the taxpayer burden heavier.

We here in Lancaster County have to live with our CC. Eventually, after a year or two, the events that have patronized the new hotel and CC will return to their past homes. In the meantime, NO ONE is going after the [culprits]; projects just keep on being created.

$150,000 for a feasibility study to see if the trolley car will succeed!!!!! The city has infrastructure that is so bad. Transportation Authority says streetcars will cause many problems, but is not heard.

Mayor Gray stood at the Commissioner meeting last week pledging that the study will be done without bias and, if it is not to be, it will not. Did he not say that about the CC feasibility study?
