Gov. Tom Corbett made off-the-cuff remarks about a bill that would require women to have an ultrasound before an abortion, and he’s drawing national attention and criticism…
“I don’t know how you make anybody watch,” he said before clearing his throat, appearing somewhat uncomfortable. “You just have to close your eyes …. as long as it’s on the exterior, not interior.”
Corbett’s comments appeared Thursday as the top story on the online news outlet The Huffington Post, and on the 24-hour news network MSNBC. Critics seized on the phrase “close your eyes.”
