Why would Intell bury a statewide scoop re AG office and Tom Corbett?

An article “Critics question Corbett’s PSU probe.” appeared at the bottom two inches of the front page of the Intelligencer Journal / New Era. The two paragraphs on the front page state:

“Tom Corbett’s handling of the Penn State child sex abuse investigation as attorney general has raised numerous questions — chief among them, why did it take nearly three years for charges to be filed, and only after he became governor?

“Critics in the Legislature who say Corbett dragged his feet because the probe involved one of college football’s storied programs and, along with it, the potential to upend his campaign for governor in 2010 are now proposing election reforms.”

Ho hum so far?  Here is the lead paragraph after the jump to page A6:

“Attorneys general would not become eligible to serve as governor until four years after leaving the state’s top law enforcement post under a proposed constitutional amendment drafted by Rep. Mike Sturla of Lancaster city.”

What makes thing even more peculiar is the article does not appear on the main web page of www.Lancasteronline.com.  Nor does it appear under statewide news. NewsLanc staff had to use the search engine to finally locate the article, another click beyond “More News.”

The article ably written by Intell reporter Tom Murse is of statewide interest since the proposed amendment is a virtual indictment of Tom Corbett’s politically motivated administration as attorney general. Moreover, it is of special local interest because the amendment is introduced by our own state representative, Mike Sturla.

It suggests ambiguity on the part of some editor(s) concerning speaking unfavorably of our governor.

Much of the information and views the news article reports were recently published at NewsLanc.com. Hopefully that had nothing to do with the burying of the article.
