Here’s a look at what’s happening around Lancaster this week:
From July 5th to 27th, Theater of the Seventh Sister presents: Seed of a Nation: Lancaster and Penn’s Holy Experiment. “Beginning with the founding of William Penn’s ‘Holy Experiment’ and culminating with the American Revolution, this play explores the conflict that results when beliefs collide and idealism meets reality.” Show time is at 8 p.m. at the Roschel Performing Arts Center on at 628 College Avenue. On Thursday, July 10th at 7:30 p.m., singer Billy Joel comes to Hershey Park Stadium. Tickets range from $25 to $95 and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster or by calling 717-534-3911.
Every Thursday evening this summer, the City of Lancaster is showing a free movie in Binns Park. This week’s (July 10) movie is Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The movie is rated G and begins at 9:00 p.m.
From July 10 – 12, the hit Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar will be showing at the Ephrata Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $20-24. For more information, call 717-733-7966. Showtime is at 8 p.m. The rock opera will also show July 16th – 19th and 23rd-25th.
Enjoy the sounds of smooth jazz as legendary artist Kenny G comes to Clipper Stadium on July 10th. Tickets for reserved seats are available. General admission is charged for a spot on the field.
