Vendors: NRA’s no sales policy shows preference for manufacturers over local shops

PENNLIVE.COM: So why would the National Rifle Association — which promotes gun ownership and gun rights — take over an outdoor show and ban gun sales?

Local gun shops say the NRA’s decision has less to do with the Second Amendment and more to do with money. In announcing and promoting its new Great American Outdoor Show, the NRA has made it very clear it wants to attract a national audience to Harrisburg next February, including the biggest players in the outdoor industry — especially firearm manufacturers.

  1. I agree. It’s about money, not gun sales. Seems to me one can go to the show and see all kinds of outdoor products including guns. The fact you can’t take a gun home with you is meaningless. It’s an outdoor show, not a gun show. The NRA is about second amendment rights, not flooding the USA with guns. I think I’ll attend next year for the first time and handle an M16. My first since 1968.
