FINANCIAL TIMES: Ukraine’s president Viktor Yanukovych late on Monday made a further concession to anti-government protesters, agreeing to repeal harsh anti-protest laws adopted this month that had inflamed two-month old demonstrations against him.
In a partial win for the opposition during a fourth day of crisis talks with the president, opposition leaders and the president agreed that their parties would repeal the laws passed on January 16 – though some could be reinstated in amended form.
They also agreed that parliament would hold a vote of no-confidence in the government, and to work towards potentially reinstating an earlier constitution that boosted parliamentary powers and curtailed those of the president… (more)
