POLITICS PA: Former state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin was sentenced to 3 years of house arrest on Tuesday.
She must also write a letter of apology that will be sent to every judge in Pennsylvania, KDKA reports.

EDITOR: If they had to impeach Orie to get her out of office, she could have brought down the roof on state supreme court judges and other officials. The lax sentence likely was part of the deal to get her to resign.
