SUNDAY NEWS

Editor Marv Adams in his weekly column argues:  “Pro football players are paid well for their risks, you say?  What is the going rate for risking dementia?  No, they don’t have to play pro football. Neither do coal miners have to be coal miners.  This one is all about the greed of owners, who all to often view players as inter-changeable parts.”

WATCHDOG: “This one” is more about we fans who  watch our latter day gladiators fight it out in our arenas!   We outlaw chicken and dog fighting and we glorify football!   We have boxing commissions but no football commissions.  The “greedy owners” are only giving us what we fans who are greedy for violence want.  Shame on us for watching!  (So when does the new season begin?)
