Some slight good news re Fukushima

By Kevin Zeese

Here’s an update from Reuters, TEPCO is about to start the delicate and dangerous task of fuel rod removal.

There has been some slight good news since we wrote our article, Japan is pledging more money to the effort — this could literally cost a trillion when it is all over which will take many years — and they are raising the salaries of workers. The workers have been mistreated by TEPCO, their salaries were cut 20% in 2011 as the work they were doing got more dangerous and important (to the world).

There is a long road ahead for dealing with the Fukushima mess. It was interesting that last week CNN spent a whole day doing pro-nuclear propaganda, even playing a movie funded by nuclear industry investors. A one-sided movie with lots of inaccuracies. The nuclear industry does not give up, refuses to see that it is the past, not the future.
