…Officials in Harrisburg said they evacuated 6,000 to 10,000 residents from low-lying areas as of Thursday night. Residents of hard-hit Middletown, Derry Township and New Cumberland also streamed to eight other shelters in the midstate Thursday.
At press time, the river had risen to 25 feet and was forecast to crest at 27.8 feet at Harrisburg early Saturday — 10.8 feet over flood level, the worst flooding since Tropical Storm Agnes. By late Sunday, it is expected to have receded to flood level, 17 feet, the National Weather Service said.
As of press time, at least five Pennsylvania residents had died as a result of the flooding in the wake of Tropical Storm Lee, four of them in the midstate, and a person was missing…

EDITOR: The good news is the the Susquehanna is cresting at a lower level than the flood walls . According to the Times-Leader, this is also true at Wilkes-Barre:
Susquehanna River hits 38.83 foot crest, slowly declines
3:43 AM – WILKES-BARRE – The National Weather Service in Binghamton, N.Y., believes the Susquehanna River in Wilkes-Barre crested at 38.83 feet at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, less than two feet than what was predicted.
