Romney Backs Obama on bin Laden Photos

While some potential Republican presidential candidates have criticized President Barack Obama’s decision not to release photos of Osama bin Laden’s dead body, presumed frontrunner Mitt Romney agrees with the president.

“It’s best not to release the photo because it has the potential to incite retaliatory violence against Americans,” Romney said in a statement to Politico.

That was the same point made by Obama, who also noted that the photos are unlikely to convince those who believe that bin Laden’s not really dead anyway…

EDITOR: Tell it to the Lancaster New Era who ran an editorial “Release the photos.”  If Mitt Romney were permitted to be himself rather than placate the nut wing primary voters  (50% ‘birthers’) of the Republican Party, he might well be the Eisenhower Republican that the nation needs and craves.   On the other hand, we already have that in President Obama.
