Rob McCord has $6.6 million for governor’s race

LEHIGH VALLEY MORNING CALL: State Treasurer Rob McCord’s quest to become Pennsylvania’s next governor has gotten off to a healthy financial start.

The sum includes $1.7 million of McCord’s own money and about $1.3 million he is carrying over from his 2012 state treasurer campaign, according to Mark Nevins, McCord’s campaign spokesman.

“We enter this year incredibly well-positioned to win the Democratic primary in 2014,” Nevins said. “We had a remarkably strong fundraising effort last year — and in considerably less time than any other candidate.” … (more)
