Poll shows Pennsylvania voters divided over Corbett

TRIBUNE-REVIEW:   A poll released today on Republican Gov. Tom Corbett’s 100th day in office show  voters by a 39-37 percent margin approve of the job he is doing as governor — a statistical tie.

Since he released his budget last month, Corbett’s negative rating more than tripled from 11 percent from a February survey, according to the poll by Quinnipiac University. The poll questioned 1,366 registered voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points…

In a telephone interview yesterday, Corbett said, “There’s no blueprint for dealing with a $4.2 billion deficit.” His pledge not to raise taxes left him no choice but to cut the state budget, supporters say.
