POLITICO: “Joe Sestak: The Dem’s last choice”

Politico’s video column re who will oppose Pat Toomey, (R-PA) in the 2016 senatorial race is both outdated for facts and likely not accurate concerning the current view of the Washington Democrats towards Joe Sestak’s candidacy.

Contrary to the Politico video column, Josh Shapiro, head of Montgomery County Commissions, has stated he will not be a candidate. So far, that leaves Sestak virtually alone as a candidate.

Sestak has devoted the past five years to meeting with Democrat party leaders and working for candidates across the state. If he hasn’t made a lot of friend, he certainly has a number of admirers. Not every candidate can be as likable as Ronald Reagan.

Moreover, Sestak has been a knowledgeable and powerful speaker in defense of President Obama’s foreign policy. Certainly any lingering bad blood resulting from Sestak defeating five term senator Arlen Specter in the 2000 primary and then narrowly losing to Toomey in the general election will soon be set aside.

The Dems need a victory. Sestak is determined to be Pennsylvania next senator. He brings unique experience and knowledge as a former three star admiral and two term congressman. He can be a break against senseless military expenditures and adventurism and a source of knowledgeable advice.

He also seems like the most likely Democrat candidate to beat Toomey.

For Hillary Clinton, what’s not to like about that?
