NewsLanc received the following notification from Lancaster Township about a meeting that may have far reaching implications for the Township, the City, and, conceivably, the future of a regional police force.
“The next meeting of the Lancaster Township Public Safety Committee will be on Wed. September 9, at 7:00 pm at the Maple Grove Community Building on Columbia Ave.
The purpose of the meeting will be to review offers for [police] service from Lancaster City and from Manheim Township (for full coverage of the Township).
Lancaster City Mayor Rick Gray and Chief Harkins from Manheim Township are expected to be in attendance to answer Committee questions.”
