Pennsylvania unemployment rises in August for second consecutive month

PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE: …Economists warn against judging the health of the economy by a single month, but for the last three months the unemployment rate has held steady or gone up, which is a reversal of a trend of steady or decreasing unemployment since November 2012.

Mark Price, a labor economist for the Keystone Research Center in Harrisburg, said the employment growth since January has mostly been concentrated in the construction industry, which had been growing more quickly in Pennsylvania than in other states.
