LANCASTER COUNTY PRESS RELEASE
Commissioner Martin Praises Members of the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau for their Support
LANCASTER, Pa. (November 22, 2013) – Commissioner Martin today praised the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau (PDCVB) for their unanimous vote to support the Convention Center Financing Plan Collaboration Agreement.
“I greatly appreciate the support of PDCVB and its’ members,” stated Commissioner Martin. “It is important that this collaborative plan is supported and adopted by all the stakeholders in order to bring this process to closure, get significant interest cost relief from Wells Fargo and to put the Convention Center on solid financial footing”.
“I hope to see the announcement from DCED in December that the City of Lancaster is chosen for the CRIZ so that they may execute the agreement prior to January 2, 2014 and that Penn Square Partner will also sign off before January 2, 2014,” said Commissioner Martin. “If those things occur, the County of Lancaster and Wells Fargo will execute the new term sheet which will result in significant savings for the Convention Center Authority.”
The plan has previously received a unanimous endorsement by the Lancaster County Convention Center Authority Board and received the support of the Greater Lancaster Hotel Motel Association.
