Five Noteworthy Websites on Eastern Europe
MUFTAH.ORG: Stories from Eastern Europe are being told on various online portals doing groundbreaking and beautiful work. Some of our favorites are below, in no particular order.
1. Kosovo 2.0
Website // @kosovo2point0
Kosovo 2.0 is an informative but accessible site, dedicated to highlighting the untold narratives coming from this landlocked country of nearly two million. Whether itsexplaining the high price of electricity in Kosovo or talking about Mother Teresa’s Albanian roots, the site is fresh, surprising, and insightful, and stands apart as one of the only English-language sources on Kosovo.
The Hungarian website, Budapest Beacon, is relentless. It has published open letters condemning the Hungarian parliament and has sacrificed impartiality when necessary to tell its English readership what is really happening in the country’s political scene.
One thing the site will never sacrifices is credible reporting. However. perhaps the most surprising fact is that the website is published out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
So when will Pulitzer give credit for what NewsLanc has been achieving here in the USA?
We should be proud of this…
Szabó Gábor told to the crowd on Kossuth square before the institution of the new left party, that the reason why he invited just me from the whole hungarian media is that the Budapest Beacon is the only media which reported from the Kossuth square correctly, fact based, and wrote down the truth.
I know that he is not the biggest name in public life nowdays, but he’s right: we must be that media!
