Observations re quilter show

I do know that many waited far more than 15 minutes and some closer to one hour for a shuttle. The woman who referenced the lack of rain made a good point and it is important to note that in 2011 and 2012, the AQS show will be a week earlier in March. This will put the show as much as an entire month earlier that the show which was held at the Host for over 20 years which ran somewhere between the very end of March and the 2nd week in April…bringing in the real possibility of snow if certainly much colder weather.

A quick note here on attendance. I have no idea how many people attended the old show at the Lancaster Host but I visited it a number of times. I have no idea how many people attended AQS but I visited that show as well. What I will suggest is that the LNP article on Friday which attributed the AQS to drawing twice as many people, 20K vs. 10K is erroneous. There is no way that there were TWICE as many people here this past weekend than in the past. Bigger – YES, twice as big – no way. Any idea why LNP would make such a suggestion?

Back to the transportation problem…the real issue here is money. Even thought they said build it, the City has none, the County has none, and the LCCCA has none. Nobody, with the exception of the AQS promoter, the one who pays virtually nothing for all of the services she requires, has any and she does not want to pony up for the shuttle so the PDCVB stupidly promises to do so. Why? The LCCCA should pay and if not, the two public bodies, the City and County that created the LCCCA should pay. What’s next, the PDCVB will pay the electric bill too?
