NewsLanc oversimplifies drug rehabilitation

Have you done any checking into what it involved in drug rehabilitation? Did you research any successful programs in any nearby cities (Philly comes to mind)? Your editorial sounds noble and the outrage is certainly an attention-getter. But it shows a basic lack of understanding of the scope of addiction and the services required.

Addiction is a complex problem. It requires a multi-disciplinary approach. It is not as simple as an addict taking a pill. It would certainly benefit Lancaster readers if you were to do an investigative piece and really show the kind of commitment, the type of team, and the kind of services and facilities would be required to genuinely, and more importantly, successfully address this problem in our community.

Lord knows, I am as critical of LGH as the next guy, but I think you missed the mark with this one.
