Murphy for the law: He’s the better Democrat for attorney general

Since 1980, when a constitutional change required voters to begin electing Pennsylvania’s attorney general, no Democrat has won the office.

Party members will consider Kathleen Kane, 45, a former assistant district attorney from Scranton, and Patrick Murphy, 38, a former congressman and military prosecutor from Bucks County. That match-up gives Ms. Kane the theme for her campaign. She proudly boasts that she is “a prosecutor, not a politician.”

Mr. Murphy’s congressional career was framed by two political tides. He rode the surge for the Democrats in 2006, defeating Republican Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, served two terms, then fell to Mr. Fitzpatrick in the GOP comeback in 2010…

EDITOR: Reportedly Murphy has not pledged to resign as attorney general if he decides to ruin for governor in 2018.   This concerns us because we saw how then attorney general Tom Corbett raised millions for his guernatorial campaign while AG.

Kathleen G. Kane has pledged  to resign as AG if she were evera candidate for another office.

Pennsylvania needs a full time, dedicated attorney general, not someone using the office as a stepping stone.   We can see where that has led us!
