[Letter from reader after viewing WGAL-TV‘s disclosure that the Marriott had failed to register with the City and pay related fees, and that the hotel would not be penalized for this oversight.]

Yup, that would be squirming alright.

Gotta love these two quotes:

“Tens of thousands of dollars in penalties”

and

“The city has NO INTENTION of enforcing those penalties”.

    This is just another example of blatant discrimination. If you or I would construct a building without proper permits you could be sure the weight of the bureaucracy would come down [on] us without compassion. The so-called powers-that-be rule with their own desires and have little regard for the citizens they are supposed to represent. Just another example of a few entities with large wallets get favorable treatment.
