Manor cops should stop whining; also police work not so dangerous

The economics is simple and yet the cops whine about reality.  The township was getting paid for the three cops that patrolled Mountville and they lost that contract.  What is hard to understand that the township can’t pay cops when they

  1. don’t have that work?
  2. don’t have that money?

Further more Sgt. James Alexander should be fired for insubordination of bad mouthing his employer in the newspaper… When is someone exactly going to truth about cops supposed ‘danger’ on the job?

Cops are not even on the list of the 10 most dangerous jobs! Traveling salesmen have a better chance of dying than they do!

If you take out of the statistics places like NY, Chicago, DC etc… the safety of being a cop in Manor Township goes up astronomically!

The 10 most dangerous jobs:

Occupation  Fatalities per 100,000

  1. Timber cutters  117.8
  2. Fishers 71.1
  3. Pilots and navigators   69.8
  4. Structural metal workers    58.2
  5. Drivers-sales workers   37.9
  6. Roofers 37
  7. Electrical power installers 32.5
  8. Farm occupations    28
  9. Construction laborers   27.7
  10. Truck drivers   25

  1. Even if one were initially inclined to feel some sympathy for those losing their jobs, the outrageous comments by their union head, Sgt. Alexander, quashed that feeling. I suggest the Chief and Supervisors take a hard look at terminating him for insubordination.

  2. If policework is so cushy and safe, why don’t you head on over to the police academy and get a piece of the action?

It always boggles my mind that bitter people, likely “wronged” by a cop in the past complain about how easy it is to be a cop. Put up or shut up bud.

  3. Oh please. Cops are all alike – they accuse anyone that hold them accountable must be a criminal or ‘wronged’ by a cop in the past. You have been sucking from the teat so long, you have no idea how the other half lives.

It’s not hard to understand cops’ bad reputation given the displayed attitude on this subject. Attack and attack and attack. And to think we let these people have a gun and the power to destroy someone’s life?

    Yikes.

Remember that the guy that couldn’t get the job as a cop because he was too smart?

Facts are funny things. Cops’ jobs are NOT dangerous as evidence by the FACTS. Beat your chest and scream ‘9/11’ as much as you want the fact remains that being a cop in Manor is far, far safer than putting on roofs!

The other fact remains is that cops are merely report takers when it comes to crime. I can assure you that a sign displaying a “We don’t call 911” with a picture of a .38 will do more to keep crime from your house than 20 extra cops!
