LETTER: Gosnell’s alleged atrocities may embarrass Allison Schwartz

[This is] what I heard was during a radio broadcast from Phila. at about 8:30 AM Thursday.

A bonafide reporter for a suburban Camden newspaper (30+ years experience) covering the Gosnell trial was commenting on the lack of main media coverage of the trial. Despite having reserved seats, none of the major media outlets were attending. The reporter took a cell phone picture of the empty reserved seats and broadcast it via twitter. It apparently went viral and within 2 days the major media began to attend.

During the interview he remarked on the horror of the testimony and said the trial may be a problem for [Congressman and gubernatorial candidate] Allison [Schwartz] since she was a day to day manager (not removed as a director would be) of the Blackwell clinic and while Blackwell no longer performed abortions, Blackwell likely referred clients to [Dr. Kermit] Gosnell’s clinic. I heard no evidence or accusations of anything illegal.

EDITOR: The Democrats need to draft Joe Sestak to run in the 2014 gubernatorial campaign.

“She worked as assistant director of the Philadelphia Health Services Department from 1972 to 1975, and executive director of the Elizabeth Blackwell Center, a Planned Parenthood clinic in Philadelphia, from 1975 to 1988. The clinic performed abortions until 1984, after that it only performed referrals. Many referrals were made to Kermit Gosnell, currently on trial for murder in relation to post birth abortions he performed.” Wikipedia
