LANCASTER SUNDAY NEWS

Sports reportA wounded pride at Penn State” describes:

“Done wrong by the NCAA. Done wrong by university suits who, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal, too easily accepted NCAA sanctions, including a four-year postseason ban and severe scholarship restrictions…

“A blue T-shirt was spotted here and there at the Beav on Saturday. The front read, ‘NCAA,’ with a Bolshevik hammer and sickle replacing the ‘C,’ and under that, ‘National Communist Athletic Association.’

“The back reads, ‘Overstepping their bounds and punishing the innocent since 1906.’ ” …  (more)

WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail.  Too bad when “T” shirts get it right while most of the media is oblivious to how both Joe Paterno and Penn State were “Thrown under the bus” by former Attorney General and now Governor Tom Corbett, whose motivation was to deflect his not locking up Jerry Sandusky but instead virtually ignoring the charges while pocketing $647,000 plus from Sandusky’s Second Change Foundation board members and approving a $3 million dollar state grant to the organization.

As for the NCAA, Corbett’s monkey’s paw and limited to Penn State Freeh report  (Corbett “recommended” Freeh) plus Penn State’s capitulation enabled the NCAA to ignore its By-Laws, forego a legitimate investigation (which would have reflected on Corbett) and, in exchange for not being allowed to investigate,  crush Penn State with every conceivable penalty they were permitted to dole out.

If you don’t like what has happened, vote for Kathleen Kane for Attorney General in November.  Months ago she promised that she would investigate the whole sordid mess.
