Editorial “NFL’s Goodell makes right call” concludes:
“NFL football is violent enough without coaches and players upping the ante with promises of riches for behavior that, in just about any other setting, would be criminal in nature and deserving of lengthy jail time.”
WATCHDOG: Two wags of the tail for the editors and the League. What should be a game of athleticism and skill has degenerated into a cruel sport where spectators enjoy watching young men inflict brain damage and other bodily harm on one another for vast sums of money. In the long run the brutality may bring a spectator backlash against excessive violence… or so we hope.
