Keystone exams cause confusion, angst for students and faculty

LEHIGH VALLEY MORNING CALL:  …This week, for the first time, students across Pennsylvania will begin taking Keystone Exams in biology, algebra I and English.

For most, the results won’t go on their transcripts, affect their final course grades or interfere with graduation requirements. This year’s crop of eighth-graders will be the first who will need passing grades to get diplomas.

However, the scores this year’s juniors receive on the algebra and English Keystones will count toward their high schools’ rating under the federal No Child Left Behind Act…  (more)
