HARRISBURG PATRIOT NEWS EDITORIAL: When she was a candidate, Kathleen Kane was sharply critical of Pennsylvania’s controversial Voter Identification law. But two months into her tenure as Pennsylvania’s first Democratic attorney general, she finds herself on the horns of a dilemma.
“We’re talking a lot about the role of the attorney general versus the role of the [state] constitution,” she said. “Sometimes, as you know, there is a parallel proceeding. In my view, the constitution always wins.”
In this case, the choice is clear, Kane should punt on defending this ill-conceived law and let in-house lawyers for Gov. Tom Corbett clean up the GOP’s own legal mess… (more)
