Kane has explaining to do about busted sting and lawsuit threats

She had arguably defensible reasonsfor not pursuing bribery or abuse of office charges against five Philadelphia officials reportedly caught on tape taking gifts or money from an undercover scammer posing as a lobbyist…

She looked patently ridiculous by asking to meet the Philadelphia Inquirer’s editors and then showing up and refusing to speak. Instead, she had the editors quiz her newly-hired lawyer Richard Sprague, who is known for brawling with the media and who ominously talked about potential lawsuits for defamation…

If there’s going to be any investigation of the botched/dropped investigation – and at this point, that’s looking like a good idea – it should be fully independent of both Kane and the prosecution team that handled it prior to her arrival… (more)
