Jack Wagner drops out of Pa. governor’s race

PHILLY NEWS/AP: Former state Auditor General Jack Wagner dropped out of the Pennsylvania governor’s race Wednesday, formally withdrawing his name from the primary ballot on the last day he could do so.

“I simply did not have the financial resources to compete in the primary,” he told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

Wagner’s exit left four candidates in the race for the nomination to challenge Republican Gov. Tom Corbett – York businessman Tom Wolf, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, state Treasurer Rob McCord and former state environmental protection secretary Katie McGinty. The primary election is May 20… (more)
