It’s full steam ahead on Corbett’s reform pledge

… Corbett confirmed the plan will include what he touted during his campaign:

• Eliminating or reducing lawmakers’ “walking around money,” or discretionary grants.

• Eliminating or paring down the $188 million legislative surplus as a contribution to reduce an estimated $4 billion deficit. Corbett said he is reviewing budget documents.

• Requiring documentation for the $157 flat payments, or per diems, that lawmakers can collect for overnight stays in the state capital, without receipts.

• Requiring House members to contribute toward their health care costs as senators do.

• Creating a user-friendly online database to enable taxpayers to search for state spending…
