Questions are now being asked in Israel about whether Mr Netanyahu’s all or nothing strategy of opposing an interim deal served Israel’s interests.

The leader of Israel’s centre-left Labour party praised the prime minister on Monday for “putting the issue on the global agenda” but also said he was “creating unnecessary panic”. Writing in the Times of Israel newspaper, Isaac Hertzog said: “This is an interim agreement; it isn’t Judgement Day, which hasn’t arrived yet.” … (more)
