INTELLIGENCER NEW ERA

Front page article Corbett opposes gas tax in budget” relates:

Gov. Tom Corbett said Monday he would lean toward vetoing a budget bill if it contains an “impact fee” on natural-gas drilling, which is rapidly expanding across the northern and western parts of the state.

The first-term governor, speaking in Lancaster County, said the Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission should be given a chance to complete a study of the activity and issue a final report to him in July before the Legislature debates an impact fee.

WATCHDOG: Corbett would rather keep his promise to the Marcellus Shale contributors than tax their profits as do other states.  It doesn’t seem to bother him at all that, for lack of tax revenue, children will go hungry, teachers will be discharged, libraries go unfunded.   These are but a sample of the shredding of the public safety net.

This is the same guy whose department when state attorney general failed to investigate conceivably felonious misrepresentation on the LCCCA Application for $15 million in state funds and who incorrectly advised the PAM board that assets could be turned over to creditors without state review and approval.

Corbett appears ‘bought and paid for’ at the expense of the citizenry.  We are stuck with the fox in the chicken coop for almost four more years.
