INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL NEW ERA

News article “Lancaster mayoral debate brings sharp exchanges about city debt, safety” opens:

“When the City of Harrisburg completes the sale of its troubled incinerator, Lancaster city will assume the dubious distinction of having the highest per capita debt of any city in Pennsylvania.

“That fact is misleading in that much of the debt will be repaid by water and sewer customers — many of whom are in the suburbs — rather than city residents.”

WATCHDOG: Here we have a reporter and his editor giving an breaking from journalistic ethics and giving an editorial comment in a news article.

Hopefully the reporting for the debate on Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. being sponsored by LNP will receive more even handed treatment.
