INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL

Editorial “PSU’s better option” argues:

“Penn State’s best hope for a reconsideration of NCAA-imposed penalties lies in meeting the obligations put forth by the athletic association, not by filing lawsuits to recover its reputation…”

“[U. S. Middle District Judge Yvette] Kane did note that Corbett’s contention that the NCAA may have exceeded its authority in imposing sanctions could have merit, but he chose the wrong vehicle to press his case…”

“Implementing those changes not only will sit better with a skeptical public, it will give the university far more leverage to lobby for a reduction in sanctions than by throwing lawsuits at the NCAA.”

WATCHDOG: We disagree with the Intell editors.

In psychiatric terms, we do not advocate “identifyinging with the aggressor” nor meekly submitting to injustice.

Let’s hope that the Paterno Family law suit against the NCAA will achieve a full trial. Then the NCAA can be exposed for its rush to judgment, the Freeh report for its inadequacies and prejudices, the governor for his conniving, and justice be done, not only for the “kid in the shower”, but for Joe Paterno, Penn State alumni, and the university.
