History of CC as Private/Public venture of national interest

I have heard that this series will be made into a book. That is a wonderful idea not only because the issue of Private/Public ventures is in great need of review nationwide, but, from what I have read of the series, and its fairly dramatic details, there is also a good story here.

That story continues with the Henderson lawsuit which would make a dramatic climax to the book no matter what the actual court decision may be. Personally, I would be delighted to see Henderson vindicated by the court, and further believe that vindication would serve an important public purpose. I believe she was doing the right thing in terms of both her personal conscience and her fiduciary responsibility to the people who elected her. The price she paid for that fidelity is a warning to public officials everywhere and a serious challenge to our system of government.

Anyway, a final chapter might catalog the lessons learned with suggestions/guidelines for Private/ Public ventures generally..The basic success or failure of the Convention Center project may not be known for years, but the details of its operation, by the book’s publishing date, would certainly be of additional interest.

The combination of a good story and the larger public purpose should attract a sizable national readership and may become a “must read” for community members and their officials where these projects are being considered every day across the country, and, perhaps internationally.

I would shoot for a major book with a major publisher. From what I have seen of the series, the “bones”, as they say, are all there. Whatever is needed to make it a great finished book project would be well worth the effort.

Please enter my order for one of the first copies.

  1. There would be a sequel to the book as the back-handed deals, the blatant lies, and the greed of certain entities will not end.
