While Thompson may be difficult to deal with, this article is the ultimatein sleight of hand. Thompson’s, and the city’s, woes result mainly from the outrageous mismanagement by long time former mayor Reed in conjunction with the financial challenges all governmental, and many private, operations face as the result of the lingering economic downturn. It may be easy to blame Thompson, a black woman, but it shows a genuine lack of understanding and honesty.
