Good medicine: The health care ruling brings much-needed reform

Too many people lacking insurance have little or no access to primary and preventive care and instead use hospital emergency rooms. In Pennsylvania, this uncompensated care costs hospitals $1 billion each year.

The law also means adult children can stay on their parents’ plans until they are 26, something counted on by many families in these hard economic times when a growing number of young adults can’t find jobs. The unfair notion that health insurance companies could turn you down because of pre-existing conditions also would be gone…   (more)
