This past week we learned that Franklin & Marshall got a new ‘John’ to be president of the college – John Burness.
Just like the current ‘John’, Burness is educationally unqualified to lead a higher education organization, having only an undergraduate degree.
So when Franklin & Marshall scoured the world searching for a temporary replacement, what made Burness stand out to them? John Burness’ claim to fame is his place at the vortex of the worst public relations nightmare in the history of higher education! Burness helped lead the false allegation charges against Duke’s lacrosse team.
Burness is the natural progression to improve upon F&M’s current ‘John’ Fry, who has had public relation disaster after disaster. And who recruited Burness to F&M’s board years ago? Fry, of course.
Birds of a feather flock together. God help Lancaster.
