E-edition of LNP is excellent substitute for newspaper

The carrier made a mistake and delivered the WSJ instead of the LNP this morning. No problem. We turned to the “e-edition” which is available to subscribers and especially helpful when traveling. (It is also available by subscription without newspaper delivery.)

Usually after pealing off the wrapper, we only look at the front page to see if anything important is happening and then take a glance at the editorials, just in case the editors are going astray again . Then we dig into the New York Times over breakfast.

But today we got caught up in the e-edition and ended up scanning the entire newspaper. Frankly, we were not aware of how much local coverage is included each day, if today was typical.

We are in the process of redesigning NewsLanc.com / RealReporting.org, including a mobile version. (It may take a couple of months.) Unlike newspaper ‘e’ editions, it won’t look at all like a newspaper.

And yet… there is something nice about reading an ‘old fashion’ newspaper on line.

But of course we are ‘old fashion.’
