Don’t tell F & M but “Court ruling strips Millersville University police of jurisdiction on some roads”

According to Lancasteronline.com:

“Millersville University police have quite the quandary: The officers have no authority over what is arguably their own turf.

“A recent Pennsylvania Superior Court ruling has stripped their jurisdiction over “public” roads that pass through campus.

“Millersville University and Pennsylvania’s other state-owned schools are searching for solutions to the loophole in police coverage.”

At the time of the F & M Security Police mugging of innocent bystander Ron Harper in the state right-of-way across from the residence of college president John Fry, NewsLanc’s research encountered that state law provides full police power to campus police within half a mile of any college or university own property! This flabbergasted us.

Now we see where the Pennsylvania Superior Court seems to be limited campus security jurisdiction.

We can’t figure what’s up. The state law seemed to provide far too much authority. The recent ruling seems to take away the essentials.
