In his most recent CC article, Tim Stuhldreher of the Central Penn Business Journal seems to be following the marching orders of the higher-ups over at LNP:
- Advocate and push for a hotel tax increase at all cost
- Give Nevin Cooley a forum to say anything he likes without questioning or challenging him
Did I miss the announcement? Does LNP now own CPBJ? I always thought of the CPBJ as a reasonable alternative to our local print monopoly but am now thinking twice after reading the following unchallenged statement by Nevin Cooley:
“The agreements are part of a package of contracts that Penn Square Partners believes is fair overall.”
I appreciated that Nevin, and his boss, stand to make big bucks with no risk on this project. In fact, if one were to add up every dollar collected to date, by PSP AND every single subsidiary of High that has dipped its beak in the trough, I think you would find they are already well in the black.
That said, I would suggest that Nevin stop pulling our chain with statements about his agreements and partnership in our project. You would hope that unbiased media outlets would be willing to call a spade a spade…I guess you can cross CPBJ off that list.
