County waste authority set to close on Harrisburg incinerator

LANCASTER INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL: The county waste authority’s purchase of the Harrisburg incinerator could be announced within days, officials say.

Friday to the board of the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority, James Warner, the authority’s chief executive officer, said closing on the transaction hopefully would take place this fall.

EDITOR: In one action, all the accumulated wealth of the Authority for decades and future earnings are being put at extreme risk. Apparently without a financial Feasibility Study or an Environmental Assessment.

On the other hand, Warner has made such announcements in the past. Time will tell.
