Corbett has company at breaking point

PITTSBURGH TIMES-TRIBUNE Editorial: Gov. Tom Corbett said last week that he is near his “breaking point” because federal regulators have not approved his plan to steer billions of public health care dollars through private insurers.

Well, perhaps the governor can take solace in that he is not alone at the breaking point. Also there are 281,000 of his fellow Pennsylvanians who could have and should have had health care coverage by now under the Affordable Care Act.

But expanding health care coverage for low-income Pennsylvanians is not Mr. Corbett’s forte. He began his term by eliminating the adult basic insurance program for 42,000 low-income workers who aren’t covered through work but make too much money to qualify for Medicaid… (more)
