At the Lancaster City Council committee meetings held at the Southern Market on Monday, August 3, 2009, Council president Louise Williams announced that Joe Morales is no longer chairman of the Public Safety Committee, effective immediately, and has been replaced by Pat Coller.
Joe Morales is now chairman of the Community Development and Planning committee, replacing Ms. Coller.
I strongly suspect this was done because Joe Morales is the paid Executive Director of the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, which controls the surveillance cameras in Lancaster City. This should reduce the potential for a conflict of interest.
